The countdown has begun for the 2nd Izmir Book Fair, organized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. IZKITAP will bring together authors and publishers with readers and unite the publishing sector with all its components. With the participation of nearly 250 publishers and institutions, and with poet and writer Birhan Keskin as the “Guest of Honor,” IZKITAP will be held from October 28 to November 5, 2023, with book signings and discussions. Hosted by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in collaboration with Izfas and SNS Fuarcilik, IZKITAP – Izmir Book Fair will open its doors on October 28, 2023, at fuarizmir. Standing out among book fairs with 80 discussions and over 800 book signing events in its first year, IZKITAP will once again bring together hundreds of valuable authors, illustrators, journalists, and academics with their readers through book signings, events, and discussions. IZKITAP will also offer cultural delights to book lovers with the most distinguished cultural publishers, educational publications, bookstores and auctions, international guest authors, and exhibitions. With the support of IZELMAN A.S., IZKITAP – Izmir Book Fair will bring together writers, publishers, and book lovers, and unite the sector. The “Guest of Honor” of the fair will be poet and writer Birhan Keskin. Authors such as Ayse Kulin, Canan Tan, Ilber Ortayli, Mert Arık, Şermin Yahar, Şükrü Erbaş, Timur Soykan, and Umut Sarıkaya, among many others, will meet with their readers through book signings and discussions at the fair. Fuarizmir, which hosts over 30 fairs and events throughout the year, attracting thousands of domestic and international participants and visitors, will welcome all the components of the publishing sector, non-governmental organizations, and book lovers from October 28 to November 5, 2023, with its open and closed exhibition areas, seminar halls, cafe areas, free parking lot with a capacity of 2,500 vehicles, service facilities, and many other opportunities. The fair is expected to be visited by tens of thousands of book lovers over the course of 9 days. Extra trips for easy access to the fair The Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has created special transportation lines for Izmir residents to easily reach fuarizmir for IZKITAP. In addition to the 92 metro line from Ucyol Metro to Fuar Izmir, the 610 line from Gaziemir Semt Garaji to Fuar Izmir, the 650 line from Fahrettin Altay to Fuar Izmir, and the 540 line from Lozan Meydani to Fuar Izmir, there will be regular trips from Bornova Metro Station and Sirinyer IZBAN to fuarizmir without transfers. Students from schools will also come to IZKITAP by bus.
